Welcome to Tahoe Yoga Nook, a cozy yoga studio in Carnelian Bay. I’m Mary-Kate - or MK - Jackson and I’ve been teaching for over 11 years. It has long been a dream of mine to create a small, inviting space where people can come together. The idea first took root when I found a Mexican Otomi wall tapestry years ago, which now serves as the centerpiece of the Nook. With space for just 10 people, it feels like a private sanctuary. You can join weekly classes, book a massage, or explore my upcoming events and retreats to unplug and reconnect with yourself.

About me….

Yoga, for me, is practice, imperfect, evolving, and always in motion. It’s the act of showing up, even when it’s hard. It’s catching myself in old patterns, softening when I want to resist, and finding small moments of progress in the messy, beautiful process of being human. My practice moves with me into conversations, relationships, motherhood, and the ever-changing flow of life. Some days it is movement and breath. Other days it is rest, deep listening, or using the tools I’ve gathered along the way.

I find joy in movement, challenge, and stillness. I see it in my son’s curiosity, in belly laughs with friends, in the awe of nature, and in those moments when everything clicks, whether on a yoga mat, a surfboard, skis, a mountain bike, or simply in the rhythm of everyday life.

I want you to walk into my class knowing you belong, whether you are here to move, breathe, connect, or just be. My teaching is inspired by anatomy, by truth-telling, by the amazing teachers I’ve studied with along the way, and by the resilience of the human body and mind. Above all, I hope yoga helps you feel strong, steady, and at home in yourself.
